Water Cooler Talk
Michelle stood at the sink, filling her water bottle.
Cody noticed her from the water cooler across the room, where he stood filling up his bottle. “Hey–how come you’re not filling up your bottle at the water cooler?”
Michelle screwed the lid back in place, grabbed a paper towel, and wiped off the bottle.
“Oh really? So I guess tomorrow you’ll be filling that up with toilet water?”
Michelle walked over to him.
“Yeah–tomorrow I’m going to fill this with toilet water. Come on–you know what I meant. It’s seven in the morning, so if it’s all the same to you, Stephen A. Douglas, I’m not in the mood for a debate. Ugh.”
She brushed past him and headed down the hall.
Cody smiled. He had only been working there a week, and he’d been given a nickname already. Totally fittin’ in, he thought. NAILED IT.
