…and on the 8th day, micro fiction was published on some dude's blog.

“I do have one. You know that company Edible Arrangements? I don’t get that name–I mean, sure, in our society it’s considered “weird” to eat flowers, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. So, aren’t all arrangements edible, when you think about it?”

The man on the other side of the desk stared at him for a moment, then extended his hand.

“OK, then–thanks for coming in. We’ll be in touch.”

It wasn’t until Adam was on his way out of the building that he realized “So, do you have any questions for me?” probably meant questions about the job, or the company.

But he decided not to dwell on that, at least for the moment, because it was well past lunch time and he was starving. He was thinking a big bunch of carnations would hit the spot.

  1. Love how you jump in in the middle of a conversation, and leave us to figure out what’s going on by the end. Very Quantum Leapy. I like the absence of throat clearing in micro fiction!
