The Flaw In His Weight Loss Plan

George readied himself at the starting line, waiting for the pistol to fire.

He was already drenched with sweat and feeling achy, and the race hadn’t even started yet. He wasn’t even sure if he’d be able to get up from the crouching position into which he’d placed himself. He had only done it because the other entrants were doing it, and he wanted to blend in.

It was then that he realized the flaw in his weight loss plan: He probably should have started with at least a few months’ worth of light to moderate exercise before attempting something this ambitious.

But it was too late now. George had already paid the entry fee, bought a new pair of running shoes, and had his number pinned to his chest. He was in this thing.

He looked around. He appeared to be the only five hundred pound guy in this year’s triathlon, but that was OK. He’d give it his best shot.
